Terms of Use

A few things to know about using Sakhams.

1. Using Sakhams means you agree to these terms. By using Sakhams, you agree to follow these terms. They are not meant to be complicated or overly formal — they are simply here to explain how I would like Sakhams to be used. Sakhams is intended to be a positive, educational, and informative place to explore the world and learn new things.
2. Please help keep Sakhams a positive environment. Sakhams is meant to be a welcoming and positive environment. Please do not use Sakhams to harass, threaten, discriminate against, or intentionally harm other people. You also should not attempt to disrupt Sakhams, exploit bugs or vulnerabilities, introduce malware or other harmful software, interfere with the website's operation, or otherwise intentionally misuse the site.
3. Please ask before using Sakhams content. The data, maps, graphics, games, writing, code, and other original content created for Sakhams are not intended to be freely reproduced or incorporated into other projects without permission. If you would like to use something from Sakhams in another project, please ask first. You can contact me at dereklongo22@gmail.com . I am generally happy to allow people to use Sakhams content, especially for educational or non-commercial projects, and I am usually happy to either work out reasonable terms or freely distribute content for other uses as well.
4. Permission and attribution. If I give you permission to use Sakhams content, I may ask you to provide attribution or otherwise specify how the content should be credited. The exact form of attribution does not necessarily need to be formal. Depending on the situation, something as simple as mentioning Sakhams and linking to the website may be appropriate. What matters is following whatever attribution requirements we agree on when permission is given.
5. Geography can be complicated. Unfortunately, geography is a subject that can be controversial, and I want to make it clear that the projects on Sakhams are not intended to be political in any way. The projects on Sakhams are intended to be educational and informative, and I do not endorse any political views or opinions.
6. Information may contain errors. The projects on Sakhams are based on data from various sources, and I do not take responsibility for inaccuracies or errors in the underlying data or for possible mistakes made while creating Sakhams. I do my best to make Sakhams accurate, but mistakes can happen, and information may become outdated or change over time.
7. Some content comes from other sources. Sakhams uses information, datasets, images, and other material from a variety of sources. I do not claim ownership of material that belongs to other people or organizations. When Sakhams uses third-party material, the rights and terms associated with that material remain with their respective owners. If you use material from Sakhams that comes from another source, you are responsible for respecting that source's applicable terms and requirements.
8. These terms may change. I may update these terms from time to time as Sakhams changes or new projects and features are added. Changes to these terms will not retroactively make something you did while following the previous terms a violation. However, once updated terms are posted, you are expected to follow the new terms if you continue using Sakhams.
